Have A Tropical Adventure With A Bahamas Dolphin Encounter
by Christine OKelly

Are you worn out from the long, cold winter? You should think about a vacation, but just any vacation won't do for the winter weary. To thaw out and recharge, consider a tropical adventure to enjoy warm sun, white sand beaches, ocean breezes, swaying palm trees, and the time to just sit back and relax. With many hotels, airlines, and cruise ships now offering discounts, there has never been a better time to visit this spectacular destination.

It doesn't matter what your schedule or budget is, you are sure to find some incredible vacation packages available. Pass by plain vacations where you stand in long lines all day and opt for one of the commonwealth's many exciting activities like a Bahamas dolphin encounter, snorkeling, or scuba diving. Just imagine jumping into the warm, turquoise waters of this paradise in the company of these adorable, intelligent creatures.

An Open Sea Adventure

If you would like to earn scuba certification while on your tropical vacation, sign up with one of the local dive centers. Certification classes are affordable and extremely simple to schedule as thousands of people attain their certification each year. After obtaining your scuba certification, you can head out for an open sea dolphin adventure on one of the local dive charter boats.

Wild bottlenose and spotted dolphins follow these boats out to sea because they know they will get a tasty treat from the experts onboard. These experts will answer your questions and will show you how to interact with these curious, playful dolphins while feeding them. These dolphins are just as fascinated with humans as humans are with them.

A Sanctuary Adventure

The open ocean isn't always ideal for everyone, especially for families with young children. You can still have a Bahamas dolphin adventure on your vacation, but in a more controlled environment, if you visit one of the dolphin sanctuaries. In a sanctuary, you'll interact with dolphins up close. A sort of dolphin resort, sanctuaries give dolphins the best of both worlds, including three-acres or more of open ocean water, food, protection, and fun as they interact with their favorite creatures -- humans.

Upon arriving at a sanctuary, you'll participate in a short class to learn the biology, anatomy, behavior, lifecycle, and habits of dolphins. After the class, you'll jump into the pool to meet dolphins up close. You can take a dorsal fin ride, play, and even get a hug and a kiss from the dolphins. They are actually quite similar to puppies in their behavior.

Even More To Do

While a Bahamas dolphin encounter is the experience of a lifetime, you'll find more activities to take away your winter blahs. Swim in the turquoise water, work on your tan, build a sand castle, or walk the waterfront. You can also visit local museums, enjoy live music, and even go on a sea lion encounter.

This island paradise is sure to warm you up after a long, hard winter while giving you memories that will last a lifetime.
